Its been almost a month since my last post. It's been pretty busy, not in the oh I have too much to do sense, but in little things. Im house sitting for a month for my other mom. Ive been working on getting set up to be able to sell my flower necklaces which is coming along nicely in general, but still being delayed a week or so because materials come from east Canada :(
School starts on Monday and Adam starts his new job in a little over a week. We're hoping that the extra money from the new job, and my necklaces will give us the jump we need to be able to make a down payment on a nice little house we've found.
So we're still here and still plugging away, working towards bigger and better :)

Turn the page, start the next chapter
It's been a couple of weeks since my last post and much has happened. Unfortunately not all good and had been slightly disheartening.
Adam and I found out that our plans for purchasing a trailer to make our own space has been further delayed by the Banks. So after the initial frustration at the decisions we are resolving ourselves to pick ourselves up by our bootstraps and work towards fulfilling the necessary requirements of obtaining said trailer.
Adam made a new contact yesterday in hopes of finding a new job getting back to the laser cutting that he was doing in the 3 years prior to his moving here. We're excited for the possibility as it would mean he would be doing something he enjoys, and the prospect of hopefully earning more money, or at least a steady job rather than the hither and to his current job has been.
I was able to pay off a bill that has been plaguing me for almost 5 years now which is very nice and also have gotten registered for Fall quarter at Seattle Central to continue my long road of becoming an Interpreter to the Deaf.
In following up with my last post, we didn't end up going to Polycamp, their website schedule and the cost of going made it seem well less than worth it. We found out later that the schedule had changed vastly during the course of the weekend, but we had a relaxing weekend taking care of the pups with no demands on our time which is always nice.
Next things on the order of business are to put shingles on our shed as we're getting back into rainy season hopefully it dries out enough that we can make them effective. I am also working on putting together an assortment of my Scale Maille flowers in various necklaces, earrings and pins in order for Naomi to take them with her to Arizona the end of the month to hopefully sell.
And after breaking up dog fight and calming down some, I think this will be the end of my post... see you next time.

Back to school
So this weekend was a lot of fun.. Photoshoot went well got some awesome pictures. The war was hot.... very very hot.
Now I have to start figuring out my next set of classes for Fall quarter. I've decided to take Intro to Lit... if I have to take an English course at least this one will be vaguely interesting- since I already took American Lit in high school that is...
My ASL/ ITP classes aren't lining up though :/ Deaf Studies is full (no surprise there) and the Linguistics class that I need and was only offered in Fall is now showing up as a correspondence class... we shall see.
I will be glad when my general schedule slows down... but I don't see that happening anytime soon. This week logs are being delivered for the permanent house but I have to work so I won't really get to enjoy the cabin Ann has all picked out.
Weekend after this is PolyCamp, should be interesting, looks like there are lots of fun class lecture thingies.
Then we get to start working on setting up the space for our trailer so we will have our own space and our own yard area.
For now I'm just goin where life takes me and see how I land

Check the carburator I think we're flooded
Once again I've fallen back into the rut of starting something with vigor... and then letting it fall by the wayside until it deems itself interesting again. Those that know me have relented to this sad fact. For all the vigor... I can still be very fickle.
But I begin again such as it is.
All in all life has been decent since the last missive. We had a good weekend with a near private fire show. A ton of work went into it right up until the last minute, and even a few things that aren't quite done. Had a fun trip to Packwood with everyone yummy breadsticks from Cruisers and good food at Copper Creek. Skate Creek road made my Jeep need an alignment even worse than it already did.. they should have just left it dirt I think.
This weekend is a photoshoot which should prove to be fun.. and WAR... which hopefully we will get to and see old friends and maybe make some new.
Short as it is, I think thats all I have for now.. Hopefully my next will be faster in manifesting.

Work in Progress
So, I have decided to follow suit with a friend and start a blog. It's something I've considered many times but ultimately never really followed through with. Hopefully this goes well and I will actually think about putting out my thoughts in web format rather than my normal internal monologue.
I've discovered two things this week..
One: vacations are never long enough to dull the mind rotting soul sucking ache that is my job... some days are better than others as with any job, but most of my days seem to be those others. I'm moving up in the world of my company, but there aren't any real benefits and we've had a lot of cutbacks as most places have, so the usual lowered call volume of moving up in rank is offset by the lower amount of people in general.
Two is that no matter how much sleep I get I seem to be perpetually tired. Or I go to bed early to give myself enough sleep time and I toss and turn or wake up every 30 minutes. My solution? I'm going to try taking Valerian Root, I abhor taking sleep aid pills because they always leave me groggy and they still don't always work so I'll try the herbal remedy and see how it goes.
Back to my vacation... I had a blast! I spent 2 days driving to Las Vegas; where I grew up; to visit my folks and mainly go to the DeafNation World Expo. I wandered Fremont Street Sunday night trying to work myself up enough to actually start talking to someone or anyone.... Didn't happen. I find myself to be incredibly shy and awkward in those situations. I never want to interrupt someones conversation, especially considering some of these people know each other, and may not have seen each other in many many years. Then... what will they do when they find out I'm hearing and interrupting the conversation they were having, and then they may think that I'm inept because I'm not able to keep up with all of the conversation and I may have to ask what something means.. So Monday comes.... and I wake up early to wait in line for an hour and a half to get in the doors at Expo, the guy standing next to me started talking to me, complaining about the line and that our digital registration wouldn't work to get us in the fast line.. boo for that. We started chatting about where we grew up and such, good conversation and it helped pass the time. We finally got in and went our separate ways. I wandered around for a while, looked at the booths found some interesting things but alas not enough money to really buy anything. Monday night I went to the Expo pool party at Treasure Island. I had a drink, wandered around for a while, then finally decided to go into the pool. Still feeling awkward about opening conversation with anyone some people next to me said hi, yay! I met James, Lisa, Elizabeth and Conrad, all very awesome people and thankfully didn't slow there conversation much when they found out I was hearing. They also boosted my ego a bit by telling me that I was a very good signer, woohoo.James also took me over with him to get our picture taken with Matt 'The Hammer' Hamill ( Deaf UFC fighter).
Tuesday same as Monday minus the line really, Wednesday I took the day off from Expo and visited Adams parents and watched Avatar (pretty good movie, lots of imagination). My parents came over after work and we all had a nice dinner together. Thursday back to Expo, wandered a while, went to a workshop with Matt Hamill learned about his life and how he got started in wrestling as well as UFC. Later in the afternoon went to another workshop and learned about sex signs both proper medical terminology as well as slang, very interesting and a little funny.
Friday I took the day off relaxed and was lazy. Saturday I went to Lake Mead with my parents, had a blast and got lots of sun (so now I'm all peely)
Now I'm back home and back into the work grind, still have almost two months before school starts again and my life returns to its usual busy state.
